Guest guest
This tofu nog is THE BOMB and everyone seems to love it! Has anyone looked at the nutrition info. on traditional egg nog? Very scary--loaded with saturated fat. TOFU NOG 2 pkg. (12 ounces each) silken tofu 2 cups vanilla soy milk 1 tablespoon vanilla 1/4 cup sugar 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1/4 teaspoon tumeric 1/2 to 1 cup rum or equivalent extract nutmeg Blend all ingredients except nutmeg in blender, chill and serve. Sprinkle with nutmeg. --- rascalandrogue <rascalandrogue wrote: > > > Issue three is in the works and I need submissions > of art, recipes > and aricles for the theme Home for the Holidays. > What is your > favorite holiday recipe? Guest guest
Mary, The tofu nog looks pretty good. Have you figured out the nutritional values on it yet? Thanks, Jen N.
Guest guest
No, I haven't figured out the nutritional values--I'm sure it has quite a few calories due to the sugar. But healthy at the same time due to the soy, and MUCH healthier than traditional egg nog with all the cholesterol from whole eggs and saturated fat. Mary --- " Jen N. I'm not Mary, but I put the recipe into Mastercook to get some values. I made a guess that it might make 8 servings, so adjust accordingly: Per Serving (excluding unknown items): 171 Calories; 5g Fat (36.8% calories from fat); 9g Protein; 12g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 0mg Cholesterol; 14mg Sodium. Exchanges: 0 Grain(Starch); 1 Lean Meat; 1/2 Fat; 1/2 Other Carbohydrates. -- Angela Soy Tarts - http://stores.ebay.com/soymelts Soy Candles - www.MyHouseSmellsGood.com
