I'm with you on not wanting to rely on soy too much. I always keep

various nuts and seeds around to snack on, which are a good source of

protein. I also cook a lot with beans other than soybeans. If you don't

have much cooking equipment, you might want to experiment with canned

beans. They can be tossed into salads or heated up with seasonings

added to them or smashed with a fork to make a sandwich spread.

Store-bought hummus is also great on sandwiches or as a dip for veggies.
