I posted it here: http://www.reluctantvegan.com/2005/01/menu-for-wednesday.html Hi Serene! Thanks for the recipe - it looks good & may satisfy my want for cheese w/o soy. I never knew the difference between brewer's yeast, nutritional yeast & regular yeast before last week! I've heard a lot of good things about several flavours of Follow Your Heart (although not so much w the cheddar), but I can't get it here. I like your website! A girl after my own heart! On the 'Vegan Dairy Substitutes " page you said: Rice or Nut Milk 1 cup cooked rice or raw nuts 4 cups water Blend in blender until it's as smooth as it will get. Strain. Use the milk within a day, and use the pulp in baking or soup, or throw it out. If you like it a little sweet, you can add a tiny bit of sweetener and/or vanilla, but the sweetness is the thing I dislike about commercial " milks " , so I never bother. It's also possible to make Banana Milk by using a banana and a cup or two of water, but that needs to be used immediately. It's good on cereal, though. - Thanks for these - I ALWAYS have rice in the house, so I'll give this a try. It will be cheap & easy & if I hate it, I can experiment a bit. I also liked the banana milk idea! I always have bananas too, so I can try that, especially since I always put bananas on cereal anyway. I seem to have a block about buying soy or rice milk. I'll drink chocolate soy once in a while & enjoy it, but not anything else. I did buy a vanilla or " original " flavour (I can't remember which) on sale which was good in smoothies, but I still cut it half & half w milk. I just don't want to try a glass with a sandwich. *sigh* I think I'd be a lot more inclined to try my own & I'll be thrilled that there is no packaging waste. It's funny the quirks we have about food isn't it? Thanks for the reply! His in JOY (: Sunshine
