I might have posted it before, it relies on nutritional yeast for a cheese-like flavor. VEGAN MAC & " CHEESE " 3 1/2 cups macaroni, dry then cooked (I use whole wheat) 1/4 cup margarine, melted 1/2 cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons soy sauce 1 pinch tumeric 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 cup nutritional yeast flakes Melt margarine in saucepan, add 1/4 cup water, stir in flour. SLOWLY stir in another 3 1/2 cups water, stirring often to avoid lumps over heat as mixture simmers (may use whisk). Add remaining ingredients EXCEPT nutritional yeast, simmer until thickened. Then whip in another 1/4 cup water and the nutritional yeast. Stir in cooked macaroni. Place in large oiled casserole dish. Sprinkle with paprika if desired. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Then broil until top is crisp. Mail - now with 250MB free storage.
