Guest guest Posted February 14, 2005 Report Share Posted February 14, 2005 i agree with the previous posts. lentils, legumes, dried beans are all relatively cheap sources of protein and minerals (iron, calcium, etc.) if you go to hispanic grocers, you can often find dried beans - like black beans or garbanzos. and at indian grocers, you can find lentils and other dried beans. you can make black bean soup, hummus, roasted garbanzos, lentils.
