Guest guest
I believe that it is generally accepted in the nutrition community that Omega 3 fatty acids are healthy and that all people should try to incorporate more omega 3 fats (as well as healthy fats in general) while limiting saturated and trans fats. However, I have read varying studies on what is the best source. Vegan sources include walnuts and flax seeds. But, some say that other non-vegan sources (such as fatty fish) are better sources because the fatty acids are more bio-available. I would say that adding some crushed flax seed or walnuts to your diet (in moderation) can't hurt because they do have healthy fats, vitamins, and fiber. If you get your omega 3s while you do it, all the better. If not, two out of three ain't bad. Peace, Kumar PS - I am grad student studying nutrition. Not that I claim any kind of authority because of it, but I do believe I am marginally more informed than the average citizen. Celebrate 's 10th Birthday!
