I made this tonight and it was delicious. So easy too.

 

1 cup orange dal (lentils)

1/2 up rice ( I used basmati)

1/2 cup yellow onion

6 cups water

1 TB cumin seed, toasted and ground

1/4 cup cilantro

salt and pepper to taste

 

 

Add rice and lentils to 6 cups of water. Cook till soft/done about

20 minutes.

 

Saute onion in olive oil, add ground cumin and cilantro.

 

Mix onion mixture into dal/rice.

 

Puree in blender. If too thick add some water.

 

Season to taste.

 

Delicious.
