Guest guest
This is a favorite of mine and it's easy to make. I got the recipe from Tofu Cookery by Loiuse Hagler. It's full of great vegan tofu recipes, although many contain lots of oil and aren't necessarily for the health conscious but can be adapted. KOREAN BARBEQUE TOFU 1 1/2 pounds firm or extra-firm tofu, cut into 1/4 " slices Marinate at least 2 hours (overnight is best) in a mixture of: 1/2 cup soy sauce 6 Tablespoons sugar or sweetener of your choice 2 teaspoons dry mustard 4 cloves garlic, minced fine or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 2 teaspoons onion powder Brown on both sides in: 2 Tablespoons oil (sesame is best) Garnish with sauteed chopped green onion, mushrooms, and/or snow peas. I serve it on a bed of asian noodles after pouring a bit of the marinade on them, or you may serve over rice. By the way, there is enough marinade for 2 pounds of tofu. The leftovers are great!!
