Bean help, please!

Hi! I am looking for bean suggestions. The only kind I have tried

are kidney beans I think (the kind in refried beans) and I nearly

threw up. The other kind I tried were chickpeas (garbanzo beans) in

hummus and it was horrible. I really want to try other kinds. Can

someone recommend a good bland tasting bean for me to try?

I'm also picky about the texture. The kidney beans had such a gross

texture inside to me...

Are white beans less strong tasting than black beans? Is there a

chart somewhere that explains the different tastes/textures of beans?

I'm a vegan who doesn't like vegetables either. (I am one of those

unfortunate rare " supertasters " with extra sensitive taste buds) But

I am really trying to taste new things and find recipes that will

allow me to expand my menu.

Thanks!!!

Those are pinto beans.

You might try white beans. They're really mild. But then you might just

not be a bean person, and that's okay. How are you with tofu? That's a

bean product.

Wow, that sounds like a rough row to hoe. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll try some white beans...and maybe

it's true, i'm just not a bean person! I can eat tofu if it's frozen

first then cooked pretty thoroughly, I can't eat it when it's all

slimy. And I eat silken tofu in recipes a lot too.

Thanks for the advice!! :)
