Guest guest
I prefer Marmite. It is great as a (thinly) spread on bread or toast - kind of salty and a bit meaty tasting, but not unpleasantly so. It is made from yeast and very high in B vitamins - therefore good for vegans and vegetarians. Not much protein at all, I don't think. It is great mixed in with soup - a tablespoon or two per 3-4 serving or you can mix a teaspoon or two into a mug of hot water for a tasty soup of its own. Try it, you might like it. Guest guest
hey there, never had vegemite, so can't comment on that, but i love marmite. it's great on toast, on a cold day when i need a little pick me up i'll dissolve a spoonful in a mug of hot water, makes a great hot drink. i use it to make a broth for onion soup, or for cooking seitan when i want a more beefy tasting seitan. i'll even just take a half spoonful and eat straight (not for the weak). it has a very strong flavor by it's self. peace jeff
Guest guest
Well I figure for 3.50 in Canada, I should give it a try. I've heard you can make some sort of cheese substitue with it? Guest guest
Is there a way to explain the taste of marmite? I've been known to have strange tastebuds as I've been told Lisa On 10/3/05, jeff <climbzen wrote: > hey there, > never had vegemite, so can't comment on that, but i love marmite. --\ ------- Get in on the Great Canadian Newsletter (freebies, contests, uniquely canadian) http://www.lisajanes.com/great_canadian_newsletter.php --\ ------- Great Canadian Website (run by me) http://www.lisajanes.com
