Guest guest
Hello, Jennifer! Welcome... There are lots of people with kids who post here, I'm sure you'll find lots of goodies! I used to live in CA, too... in San Diego, mostly, and in the San Fran/Berkeley for a short time. If you are in the San Diego area, it's pretty hard to eat vegan at resteraunts, unless you only frequent Indian cafes, or you like salads a whole lot! But, if you live near San Fran, you'll find TONS of vegan options everywhere - almost every resteraunt has at leat one vegan option on the menu, and there are vegetarian/vegan places everywhere. This group posts all kinds of fabulous ideas for vegetarian and vegan cooking! Although a homecooked meal is always the best! Just in case you plan to step out for an evening, or have to eat on the go... Here are some ideas for eating veg while in the city: There is a vegan/vegetarian guide book for the San Fran area that is really awesome! ¶"Veg Out Vegetarian Guide to San Francisco Bay Area (Restaurant Guidebooks for Vegetarian and Vegan Diners) " by Michele Anna Jordan - it has detailed info on all the vegetarian and vegan eateries, along with addresses/phone numbers, hours of operation, and sometimes info on where to park! It's an ultimate must have for any vegetarian/vegan who lives in or around, or plans to visit the San Fran area; I took it with me everywhere when I was out on the town. Here are some other veg guides for CA: ¶Veg Out: Vegetarian Guide to Southern California by Kathy Lynn Siegel ¶Vegetarian Los Angeles: The Essential Guide for the Health-Conscious Traveler by Michele Kort Note to those who aren't in California: There are VEG OUT guides for: ¶ New York City, ¶Chicago, ¶Denver/Salt Lake, ¶Miami/Frt. Lauderdale, ¶Houston, ¶ Seatle/Portland! Check out Amazon or your local bookstore if you are in these areas, or if you plan to travel there. I think you'll find it really helpful. I am here because I would like to eat more vegan dishes. I have a ten year old son who is really into cooking. I would be very interested in "kid friendly" recipes, if you know any. Guest guest
Know where to find any for Boston and Massachusetts in general? Aside from shopping at Wild Oats and Whole Foods, I have no idea yet what places are vegetarian and vegan friendly. Guest guest
Thanks, Bonnie. I live about 3 hours away from San Fransisco. We have one vegetarian restaraunt here. It is inside our local health food store. It is so good, that I know people who are not vegetarian who go there. , BRB Luna Vanilla Vegan <lunavanillavegan> wrote: > > Hello, Jennifer!
