Guest guest Posted February 7, 2007 Report Share Posted February 7, 2007 Well, I've not read too much about Thyroid issues, but I seem to recall that it is helpful to the thyroid to get selenium, folic acid, and iodine to help regulate thyroid function. Apparently deficiencies in one or more of these particular nutrients can cause problems with the thyroid--especially in women. And lowering stress helps too, because stress causes the body to produce cortasaul, which does something that I can not recall off hand to prevent the thyroid from functioning properly. I want to say it inhibits the ability of the thyroid to convert T4 into T3, but I am not absolutely certain if that was the problem cortasaul causes or not for the thyroid. Corey... .. Hello, I am new to the list and happy to be here. I have some special dietary needs (64 yo with diabetes and hypothyroidism) and I am currently reading " The China Study " by Dr. Campbell. I would like to become free from pharmaceutical remedies, which have side effects worse than the diseases they are supposed to treat.
