Guest guest
Just reminiscing about California and thinking of our upcoming move back there...thought about those delicious garlic fries that I first encountered at the Santa Cruz boardwalk...had to have some. While I was at it, I roasted a head of elephant garlic, a tribute to Gilroy...hehe Stephanie I know you are going to ask, so here it is... Garlic fries: Cook up a bag of your favorite fries or make your own from scratch While they are still warm, top with a mixture of: 2 tablespoons Olive Oil 1/2 cup freshly minced garlic 1/4 cup sea salt 1 tablespoon black pepper Mix thoroughly *************************************************************** Roasted Garlic: Whole garlic bulb Olive Oil Salt Pepper * Preheat oven to 425 degrees (I used my toaster oven) *Peel as much of the papery skin off the garlic as you can *cut about 1/4 inch off the top of each clove *place in small baking dish *drizzle with olive oil *season with salt and black pepper *cover tightly with foil *bake for 45 minutes Smear on fresh sourdough bread or eat right out of the skin, depending on how brave you are..LOL NOTE: this is for the average size head of garlic, for the elephant garlic, cook for 1 hour. Guest guest
You can smell that town miles before you arrive. Where do you live? * * * this just made me chuckle not so much that is it a smell from miles away but because our local women's group is in lack of things to do or places to go. really it's more that they don't care where we go or what we do. as long as someone in the group plans it we go. so i asked if anyone would be interested in something like a dandelion festival or garlic festival, not knowing such things are in our state of PA. off to the internet a friend and i googled festivals in PA, way too many to list here so we narrowed our search to garlic festivals. i took in so much information they called us the garlic queens for a few months. but the good point is that we are making plans to get out of town and go, that's the important thing, going. just thought i would share this one thing with yall . . . later houston ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
