Guest guest
Ed,I'm afraid this won't be much help, but...I was there a couple years ago and stuck to their typical dishes: beans and rice and fried plantains. My Spanish is basically non-existant, so those were dishes that I knew I could stick with according to a non-vegan friend who spent a lot of time there. I didn't find much else that was totally vegan--other than fresh fruit and veggies, which we avoided b/c our stay was short and we wanted to avoid any stomach problems due to the water. That said, the fried plantains and beans and rice are really good. It just gets old over 10 days. It's a beautiful place with amazing people--have an awesome time!GeoffEd Valentine <tacomaharbor Sent: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 1:24:55 PM eating vegan in Costa Rica Hello everyone. My wife and I will be in Nosara, Costa Rica in February. Is anyone familiar the food situation in this area? Any vegan restaurant in the area? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Ed Valentine
Guest guest
Thanks Geoff, I appreciate the advice. I love beans and rice and frequent a lot of mexican restaurants locally. I've been brushing up on my spanish so hopefully I can get my message across. " No productos de animales " No queso, no letche, no carne, no juevos, etc. Ed --- Geoff Evans <buffalodisc wrote: > Ed, > > I'm afraid this won't be much help, but... > > I was there a couple years ago and stuck to their > typical dishes: beans and rice and fried plantains. > My Spanish is basically non-existant, so those were > dishes that I knew I could stick with according to a > non-vegan friend who spent a lot of time there.
