Guest guest
She is a woman in Nigeria sentanced by an Islamic Court to die by stoning! Her crime? Conceiving outside of marriage. Ok Mr Talib, this barbaric judicial murder is proclaimed in the name of Islam, your religion! You claim that Islam " liberates " women -- tell it to Safiya Hussaini!!!! If you disagree with the Islamic authorities in Nigeria then you have a special burden of duty to do everything you can to help save her. If you do nothing then you are surely tainted by her death! Guest guest
I certainly could not imagine anyone here agreeing with this. I agree barbaric is not a strong enough word to describe this. What can we do? Is there anyone organising a campaign for her that UK supporters can get involved in? I just found a news link to the story, http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/world/africa/newsid_1878000/1878133.stm I also can't imagine how the authorities could think it is in the interests of her one year old child to have her mother killed. But remember as with many other religions, there are different factions and denominations, and this does not mean that Muhammad is this brand of Muslim. If anyone dosn't believe Jesus existed, why would you believe Socrates or Muhammad or Budda did? > > slg edith [slgedith@h...] > 22 March 2002 12:37 > > THE FATE OF SAFIYA HUSSAINI > > > She is a woman in Nigeria sentanced by an Islamic Court to die by stoning! > > Her crime? > > Conceiving outside of marriage. > > Ok Mr Talib, this barbaric judicial murder is proclaimed in the name of > Islam, your religion! > > You claim that Islam " liberates " women > > -- tell it to Safiya Hussaini!!!! > > If you disagree with the Islamic authorities in Nigeria then you have a > special burden of duty to do everything you can to help save her.
