Guest guest
I aplogize profusely for being on topic. Recently the worlds first submarium opened in Kingston-upon- Hull. It's the first because they invented the term. Basically it's a very very very big aquarium. So what do we think of that type of thing? Unlike the usual sea life centres it is not just about putting on a display, it is in one part about educating people and in another about preserving species that are dying out in the wild. The analogy with zoos, and the related issues, is obvious, yet the different environment and issues of confinement are different. Tough really to know what to think, it can go both ways very easily, the benefits (to humans and marine life) and the unaturalness.
