Jules- I really wouldn't advise raw shit in the garden- even vegan shit is

going to be contaminated by all sorts of pathogens (ie, microscopic life I

expect you would prefer to do without!!) therefore it should be properly

composted thermophilicaly for at least a year in order to be safe. Even then

humanure should only be applied to trees and shrubs, eg, fruit trees,

current bushes etc rather than crops you are likely to consume directly such

as salad crops of vegetables...
