Somebody at the Eco-Vegans list eco_vegans/ submitted this post a little while back on the subject of cats & their shit.. CATS in and OUT of gardens OK, there are things cat-gardiens can do to keep cats in their garden: 1. Plant catnip (Nepeta catairia) !!! 2. Provide an old sink, cement the drain-hole, fill it with water, and add whatever you like (dead leaves, ...) for cats to watch & play with. 3. Put out a fresh bowl of water every day, so the cats don't go searching elsewhere en safari ! 4. Keep a patch of soil loose and never water it. Cat's will much prefer to crap there where it's easy for them to dig and rumage. And for those who want to keep cats OUT : 1. Plant lavender, rue, thyme, geranium. 2. Save orange and lemon skins, chop them and sprinkle around newly planted / sown areas. 3. The best way to keep cats out is to keep one spayed cat yourself, she will not attract others as she is spayed, and she will protect " her " garden from other cats. Your garden ironically gets lots of shit in it exactly *because* it is feline " no-mans-land " at present, and they are all trying to mark it for themselves and they use " heavy tactics " (pooh!) because they don't live there to " police " it personally. __________
