Honestly Graham, yes it was a bit gay to write that. But I wrote it

in response to the fact that you forwarded one of my messages to

someone else, which besides being a breach of vegan UK rules,

thouroughly pissed me off. I don't care anymore that you did it, but

what annoys me is this bureaucratic approach to things, but fair

enough, you're a moderator, and if I don't like bureaucracy OK I can

bug off to vegans uncensored. So let me get this straight: because

I'm not a moderator I'm not allowed to break vegan UK rules, but

because you are, you are allowed to?

'Gay' of course being a good thing to be...?

'Straight' of course being a good thing to be...?

Let's get things clear, 1) Graham is not a moderator on this list, 2) when

he broke the rules I 'told him off', 3) you broke the rules too, 3) nobody

is allowed to break the rules, 4) I'm not going to throw people off of the

list for every little transgression and will warn them about their

behaviour before doing anything, 5) you've both been warned.

If there is any inequality here I'd love to see it, never mind the fact

that Graham was trying to help rather than being 'gay'.

Jules was upset, Graham was trying to help, and the archives are now back

up and running on Vegan Network. There really is no longer anything to

talk about so let's give this all a rest?

I meant that what I'd said (THANKS FOR NOTHING etc...)was a

bit 'gay', not what graham had said, in reference to the fact that he

said I was being a drama queen. I didn't intentionally write for any

other reason. Sorry for using the word in a non-homosexual context.

Really? You don't say...

....actually he meant straight as in 'clear'.

Do I really have to explain everything, tsk tsk. What Jules did that was

wrong was that 'gay' comment, yes, so my point is that what Graham did

wrong was very different to that, i.e. it was not 'gay' but was an attempt

to do some good, his motive was pure and all that kind of stuff that makes

doing wrong less bad.

I might possibly be gay, I've had loads of girlfriends, but my love

life stopped completely when I went vegan. I won't find out till I

leave the area I live in, its really conservative, the people here

make me sick.

Having come to a standstill in your love life because you became more

discerning about who you wanted to date does not mean you are gay Jules!

Surely it's about who you are attracted to, not about not being able to get

a girlfriend.

If you were gay surely you would know deep down, wouldn't you?

Mind you some people don't know (or don't accept their feelings) until they

are quite old because they suppress it due to society's pressure to conform

to the hetero norm.

Not trying to put you off being gay, if you truly are, but it's a funny

thing to think as a result of not getting a girlfriend for some time.

One of my best friends in my teenage years turned out to be gay, he was the

one person who cared about me when I was beaten up on the school bus because

I stood up to the rough kids who were smoking on the bus, and no way would I

take my dad's attitude to gay people (he did not like me being friends with

Ian, just because he was gay).

I become 'gayer' sometimes when I'm on cannibis. But you're right I

don't think I'm gay, I never used to like smoking it anyways till

things got too much. When I was veggie ages ago I had a long

relationship with a meat-eater (I wasn't choosy at the toime) and I

remeber once I was going to kiss her and her breath smelt of fish cos

she'd just eaten, and it really put me off as you can imagine. Now I

couldn't go out with a meat-eater.

Quite right to be choosy!

The good news is that there are more veggie women than men, so you should

have the opportunity to find someone.

Dead animals, especially fish is nasty on the breath, but many people would

say that smokers' breath is at least as much of a turn-off aesthetically

speaking (beery-breath too is yucky).

Most vegans and veggies are non-smokers and do not want a relationship with

a smoker in fact, you only have to check out VMM and other veggie dating

agencies to see this is the case.

it's probably true to say that one can find reality only when one isn't
