Drinking one and a half litres of spring or filtered water every day without

fail / drinking a whole glass of carrot and apple juice (freshly juiced from

organic fruit and veg) every morning / eating three dried apricots each

morning, after soaking them all night / not eating wheat (apart from spelt

flour and bread made with it) / not consuming dairy (which I didn't anyway)

/ not eating tomatoes or peanuts / having boiled rice daily.

In my particular case I could also not eat rhubarb or oranges, and was so

supplement with lecithin granules three times daily.

I followed this exactly for six months. I can now eat all occasionally,

except for oranges, which I am highly allergic to. But I notice when I do

eat them that I start to feel not quite so ~clear~ as usual, so I usually

follow the diet in the week, and then relax a little at the weekend, or when

we eat out.

I woke up one morning and said, right that's it! And that was that! I've re-educated my eating choices and now I don't even think I'm on a diet.

I practice yoga every day now and I've joined a gym, plus I do aerobics twice a week. That helps too. :) I also walk home from work - all up hill!

A few years ago when I was really into judo I decided right I want to lose weight (competitions are done by weight catergories). This was when I was a mere veggie, not vegan! All I did was to cut out all sweets, biscuits, chocolate (how on earth did I do it?) fried foods......basically I ate the way we are told is best. Even though there was no way I was overweight to begin with (about 8 & 3/4 stone at 5ft 6) I lost an amazing 10 lbs! Unfortunately then I went back to eating 'normally' and the weight came back!

Now I'm fairly happy with my weight of just under 9 stone, but sometimes think if I didn't eat all that chocolate..........

Sorry, the point of this message was...............oh I don't think there was one!

I was just watching a programme on losing weight on Discovery Health and there was a feature on this guy who drank too much, smoked too much, ate all the wrong kids of food and eventually was very poorly and diagnosed with a painful ulcer. He went to a *healthy* seminar and overnight gave up alcohol, tea, coffee, smoking and became a vegan! He looks fantastic now. He was singing the praises of a vegan diet and showing all the colourful and interesting meals he now makes. His wife said that before if he got a cold or something he was in bed for two or three days but now he never suffers. If he does get a cold then he just feels a bit *run down* but nothing like he did before. I thought it was great to have brilliant vegan article like that on tv!

Just wanted to share.
