Guest guest
Can we write to the Washington Post and tell them that they are grossly misrepresenting vegetarian and vegan parents? These parents, besides obviously hardly feeding the child, the main mistake most likely being no breastfeeding and using no formula (not that it applies to them as fish eaters, but can vegan formula be obtained in the US I wonder, does anyone know?), are not even vegetarian as they use cod liver oil, and it is not fair of the media to use this to make us all look bad! I might chase up the BBC version of the story too, time permitting. This kind of pathetic anti-veg prejudice from journalists makes me so mad! Lesley DOVE, Paul 01 May 2002 10:18 'Lesley Dove, Home' Vegetarians face child abuse charge!! Have you seen this: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A7000-2002Apr30.html The headline reads " vegetarians " but the article says " cod liver oil " so they obviously are not vegetarians. Even worst Marc on the vegsoc list says that the BBC picked up on this story but called the parents vegans! Paul ...................................................................... Guest guest
Hi Lesley > This kind of pathetic anti-veg prejudice from journalists makes me so mad! What gets me is, how many meat-eating parents kill their kids through not feeding them properly? But do we ever see the headline " meat-eaters face child abuse charges " ? If the same article has appeared in any UK papers, it might be worth writing to the press complaints authority! BB Peter --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
