O/T Local election (was RE: Leslie, Rat, oh shit!)

Le Pen is not OK, I would definitely not vote for him. I don't agree with

nationalism and racism.

 

Talking of elections, the local election here in Harrow today is pukeworthy,

they did not allow the Liberal Democrats to stand because of some

irregularity in their application. I don't call that democracy, maybe new

labour and the tories do, since it helps them. The lib dems are popular in

local elections in Harrow. I just voted for the one green candidate, and cos

there were no libdems I didn't bother using my remaining two votes.

It's disgusting, Ian please delurk if you have time that is, as I know you

are an active lid dem. Do you know if this is just in Harrow this has

happened, or elsewhere.

It was something to do with them using the name Liberal Democrat Focus Team,

which is the name they are well known by in the area, but the high court

apparently ruled that their application was invalid. I hope it didn't happen

anywhere else. This seems to me a disgusting attack on our democracy by the

bureaucrats, who want to keep the third party out of politics!

Obviously someone is feeling threatened.

I suspect it's the same election laws that stop someone standing as a

" Literal Democrat " . I haven't heard a fuss about it, so suspect it's

just someone who wasn't used to the new laws, rather than a conspiracy

against the Lib Dems.
