1/ What is your name (or what do you like to be called)?

Shell.

2/ How old are you (a rough idea will do)?

3/ Do you know many vegans in real life?

none.

4/ How long have you been a vegan, and how long vegetarian before that?

11 years ago I became a fish eating vegetarian for a year, then gave up fish

for a year and then became a vegan 9 years ago.

5/ Why did you become vegetarian/vegan (if you are neither it would be

useful to explain why you joined this list)?

I used to eat meat at every meal, couldn't immagine one without it. I love

animals of every kind and hate cruelty. These two things don't go, and when

we got our first house and Mum's weren't doing the cooking any more, the

reality of handling the raw stuff before it was on the plate brought me down

to Earth with a bump. Don't know why it took me so long!

6/ Whereabouts do you live?

Flintshire, North Wales

7/ How good a place is it for vegans?

Rubbish! Although we can get soy milk at last from the Co-op now.

8/ Which is your favourite type of bean?

Red kidney bean.

9/ What is your favourite country, or region, to visit?

Chester.

10/ What types of film do you like?

Gangster movies like Cassino, Miller's crossing, Donnie Brasco etc, and

Tarentino films. Love a good commedy too like Waking Ned or shooting fish.

11/ What was the last meal you ate?

Salad with a mix of rice, kidney beans, tin tomatoes and veggies with

spices, cooked in the rice cooker. Always on a diet, trying to stay off

junk food and eat healthy, but it's a battle! I love kitchen gadgets, slow

cooker, rice cooker, juicer, all great toys!

12/ Are you a morning, evening or night person?

Morning and night person. Love getting up early and staying up late, so

afternoons are when I'm tired!

I'm on other for hobbies and interests, and just put " vegan UK "

I live with my partner, Andy, and our pet birds and labrador. I love music,

play the clarinet, Love knitting and crochet and all handycrafts. A

housewife, want to learn more about being greener, I admit I fall down when

it comes to unfriendly cleaning products and need to find out more. I'm an

avid reader and love frogs, collect anything with a frog on it.
