Hi, I've just joined up now and just come on to introduce myself.

Hello, I'm Genevieve. I'm 17, from Manchester and I've been

Vegan/Veggie for 4 years. I'm not sure weather to call myself vegan

really because I'm just a vegetarian that doesn't drink milk or eat

the stuff it's made from (e.g. cheese, ice-cream etc.). I eat eggs

and honey and stuff but not animal by-products. So that's about it.

Look forward to chatting with you all. See you all soon. Love

Genevieve. :) P.S. If anybody lives in the Manchester area I'm

organising a McVegan event for next year. Anybody that can help in

any way would be much appreciated. Thank you. :)

Hi Genevieve, I'm from Stockport, near Madchester! You must know Unicorn grocery co-op then?

Tell me more about McVegan.

Vegans don't eat eggs or honey but you'll get there. I don't usually care what people label themselves but it makes it (even more) difficult eating out if people think vegans eat eggs & honey. If you think of eggs as hens' periods and honey as bee vomit it might make it easier to give up.

Hi all

I'm also new to the list, and also don't really consider myself

vegan - I'm not sure if I fit the socio-politic that everyone seems

to assume goes with the term - not here though, I'm sure. But I guess

the moniker is easier than a 'don't eat anything that involves animal

cruelty'-an. I hate green salads too!

I don't eat eggs (though may do if I was sure of the chickens and the

conditions, perhaps) or honey (don't really like it) - but I

definitly avoid products that involve animal cruelty.

So hello everyone.

regards

Hello James

Don't worry about the socio-politic - it's all bs as far as I'm concerned. I'm vegan in that I don't eat/wear/use - as far as possible - animals, their byproducts, products tested on them etc. I do it for the animals, not concerned about health (it's a bonus!) or politics (zzzzzzz).

And I used to dislike all veg inc salad but now I love the stuff! In fact I feel so much better (mentally, not physically) if I have a lots of fruit & veg during the day. (And then I can eat junk food for dinner!)

Viv

[Who's just noticed this is the nicey nicey list I shouldn't be "writing" to!]
