Guest guest
VOT (Vegan Organic Trust, the charity wing of VON, the Vegan Organic Network) have started an appeal for donations to set up an education, research and demonstration centre. It will comprise at least 10 acres of land with buildings and planning permission. The aim is to put stockfree farming more prominently in the public domain. It will have fulltime workers, regular training and education courses, demonstration grounds and a commercial box scheme, and will make a significant impact on the structure and ethics of food production. Recently, the Movement for Compassionate Living received a legacy of £80,000, and they've generously agreed to donate £70,000 to the VOT centre project. VOT still need to raise a further £300,000. More information: Sue Fox, 30 Helvellyn Road, Wigan, Lancs WN5 9UR. Tel: 01942 214 660. Email: nicsuefox @ btopenworld.com. Web: www.veganorganic.net . Send donations to Sue Fox (address above). Cheques/POs payable to 'Vegan Organic Trust'. If you pay UK tax, since VOT is a charity, they can claim back the basic rate tax from the Inland Revenue that you have paid. This increases your donation by about 28%.
