As far as unusual suppliers go... http://www.pennangalan.co.uk/ do all sorts of " interesting " boots... not somewhere for a pair of hiking boots or DMs though :-) They state : We also sell boots to vegetarians and vegans, because we have a huge selection (more than 50 styles) of exciting and cool vegetarian boots and shoes, made from animal free materials and glues. http://www.pennangalan.co.uk/boots/Vegan.html They also do non-veggie/vegan stuff, so if you require a 100% vegan supplie, they're not for you.. :-) Steve W
Guest guest
hmm... not useful for anyone looking for an Xmas present tho: "Please note that although we are now accepting orders for boots in vegan-friendly materials, we do not expect to be able to fulfil orders until early March." Try these guys (if you haven't already): http://www.veganwares.com/boots.htm OK, so the shoe company is based in Melbourne, Australia but these boots are only 250 Oz dollars (or 90 quid in real money ;-) ) Even when you add on the 40 Oz dollars postage, they still come in at 104 quid... I've bought shoes from these guys before and I've found them to be jolly good! Siofra

Methinks some clarification would be a good idea... The boots from Ethical Wears are 60 quid (plus p & p) and hence cheaper than the Oz boots. I can't remember how much Vegetarian Shoes and Vegan Stores charge but it is probably comparable. I suspect that 100 quid for knee boots compares favourably with similar boots on the (pricier end of the) high street. That said, I still need to save up for my pair...
