Guest guest
Dear group, a newbie question here (I am new to the UK as well) Where does on go for a quality non-wool formal suit in London? I have seen either bad-looking synthetics at the like of Next, or informal cotton (blend) jackets (which are good but I need formal). Any info would be appreciated -- thanks in advance Kegelban
Guest guest
Hi, I bought a really nice suit from Ciro Cittero which have stores all over England. They specialise in menswear & suits. You will have to hunt through the store but they always have a few non wool options. The staff were very helpful. I bought a 3 piece suit a couple of years back and I think it cost me about £150 with a free shirt. http://www.cirocitterio.com/ Hope this helps. Guest guest
I bought a nice smart Moleskin jacket from Next ... 100% cotton ... lining is polyester... shame they had to name the material in such a way ... a rather sinister form of the old Czech story 'How the Mole got his pockets' ... ? i would never have looked at the suits section so i don't know if they have a suit in the same material ... it might be a little too stiff... brian_cleft [brian_cleft] Hi,I bought a really nice suit from Ciro Cittero which have stores allover England. Brian and Oliver, thanks for your suggestions. If I may follow up on my own post, I have yesterday stumbled upon Adolfo Rodriguez store (I believe there are a few across London), which I really liked -- there were at least 4 non-wool suits, all in the range of 130-170 pounds, all quite nice, made in Spain. The tailoring and the fabric was rather good, so even though I was looking for just one suit, I ended up buying two. They also have accessories like scarves, non-wool jackets, pull-overs.. aplenty! Guest guest
having just had a death in the family i was forced to hunt out a suit... i forgot all about this email ... so i spent a good 2 hours in West End London seeking one out ... thought i might be able to hire a suit from Moss Bros ... don't know what most people's thoughts are on hiring wool suits .. but i think it's an option ... at least i am not buying it, just to let it sit in my cupboard for the rest of its days 'used once'...) but i was too late... so i ended up roaming the suit shops for a non-wool suit ... someone pointed to a Boss suit ... mouth dropped at the £299 tag ... but it was cotton/silk so i left the shop empty-handed... ended up buying the cheap polyester/viscose acetate man-made 100% suit from Ciro Citterio ... (only downside is the miniscule support i have just given towards manufacturing of military uniforms, bullet-proof vests and anti-nuclear shell suits... can't win, can we?) .... what are the Adolfo Rodriguez suits made from? keggelbahn [tfbxpwg1k001] > > brian_cleft [brian_cleft] > > I bought a really nice suit from Ciro Cittero which have stores all over England.
