Guest guest
I stumbled across a new restaurant in soho yesterday called Plant. Has anyone heard of it? It is the best food I have EVER eaten!!!! Practically everything is vegan and I cant believe i havent heard of it before. Check out the vanilla pancake desert. My husband who says he is still waiting for me to get back to 'normal' says he might be connvinced to eat vegan fare if there were more restaurants like this one. PLEASE you all have to go and spread the word. It is in the west end, 47 Poland Street. Please tell me what you all think

Guest guest
I don't understand why i have never heard of it before. Do you think we need to talk to the owners obout marketing?? What did you have? I had a dish called East meets West which was a kinda chickpea curry with okra, accompanied with yam and plantain. My first experience of yam and plantain so i was a bit nervous but man it was awesome!! the portions are also HUGE i was totally stuffed which rarely happens when i eat out -- In , " Oliver Slay " <oliver@l...> wrote: > i had lunch there on Monday and Tuesday... i was suffering Plant > withdrawal as they were shut over Christmas for nearly two whole > weeks... and i go nearly every day ... if i leave for lunch ... > > i posted something on VegansUncensored about it a few weeks ago ... > > they have only just become a restaurant .. before they were just a lunch > box - (10am-4:30pm)... been there for about 6 months or so i think ... > it's one of my locals... > > the cafe is open (very few seats) ... 10am?-10pm? ... well early till > late... except Friday when it shuts at 3pm? early... the restaurant > similar but later hours... and now i can go to lunch all the time even > when have lunch at 7pm ... > > hooray ... > > > > millyjaes <millyjaes> > [millyjaes] > > > I stumbled across a new restaurant in soho yesterday called > Plant. > Has anyone heard of it? Guest guest
We need to start a campaign i think. All troup down to the place and bombard them with such requests so they start expanding! I'm taking a bunch of my mates down either saturday or sunday evening after our shopping session. I've told all the meateaters we are going to a funky healthy restaurant to reduce the moans and groans so i will report back on their feedback....after all the motto of the place is apparently..'eat well, live well'

Guest guest
The webmaster's been away until recently and when I looked it didn't mention the restaurant meals. No choc cake I'm afraid - the only vegan dessert was the pancake. If you've enough room you could always pop into Mildred's for the choc cake... Guest guest
Please tell me which sites to post on too so I can tell everyone also. My hubbie keeps laughing at me but I am just so excited about the place. We eat out alot and maybe that has made me cynical but I am so tired of being the afterthought with so many restaurants that I want all the world to know about this place! , " Viv " <vc27@n...> wrote: > I was there yesterday too and was gonna post to all the lists with some of > the stuff on the menu but haven't got around to it yet. Guest guest
Some places allow you to take your own --ask them -- ----and don't forget to invite me !!!!!!! Viv [vc27] 08 January 2003 19:17 Subject: RE: Re: new restaurant! My sis had the asparagus & hummus pancake & I had the stir fry veg with tofu. We shared the pita & dips and dumplings & chili sauce for starters. Way too much food! I told them I'd mention it on the lists, even tho I have seen the previous posts, now that the restaurant is open. We were there about 1.30 and the only people in the restaurant till a single female turned up. The chef came out to talk to us and said he was hoping to turn it 100% vegan but they needed more people to eat there. It's not cheap, but definitely the best vegan food I've ever eaten. So much so that I'm thinking of having my birthday "party" there even tho they don't serve alcohol... Viv " --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
