Knackers, I've just posted to say that they did do chocolate cake.... Well, they did in October on a rare occasion when I could decadently lunch out midweek in central London... I guess there is a good reason for the change - rotating menus, poor sales.... alsorts... While we are filling Plant with vegans, perhaps we should always ask for some chocolate cake. How many sad, tearful disappointed wee vegan faces will it take??? ;-> Siofra

Guest guest
Told my husband I was on 'cooking strike' and we have just returned from another fab evening at Plant. If I keep this up I might just make a vegan of him after all, as he practically licked the plate! Highly recomend the carribean dumplings as a starter, came with an outstanding chilli sauce. Great news for all you chocies, hot off the press they will be having a vegan chocolate and another chocolate and banana cake from monday. I was going to take the credit but i cannot lie, it was apparently planned all along. I 'shared my hubbies apple crumble which was also vegan, with soya ice-cream Did you guys know their chef is vegan and used to be the head chef at Country life restaurant? 'cos the food there was great too :-) A shame that we're not in Central London enough to eat out more and help these places succeed... Sadly, out local veggie restaurant - Hollyhocks in West Norwood - has closed. Don't think it was ever hugely profitable, much more a labour of love... they did a great chocolate pudding... Wonder what'll be in todays organic veg. box, then I can try and figure out what the food for the next week will be :-) Steve W
