Guest guest
When I was a boy, I knew a girl who kept chickens for their eggs etc. They were just like any other pet and would even jump on her lap. That is excellent information, now I can tell all my friends how amazing chickens are. If so expletive annoying when you get a chicken farmer say " uuuhhhhggg, they eat their fill and are satisfied " , like they'd know. Chickens came from wild chickens, they were not put her for KFC. Nick - Tofu. We eat loads of tofu. My favorite way is to cut it into bite sized cubes or slices, then fry in frying pan on both sides. I spray the oil so as to not use too much. When crispy I add Soya sauce, or soya sauce and sweet chilli sauce (for chicken, the label would have me believe!) and mix it all up. If you fry it on a lower heat for longer you get a dryer firmer tofu, if it's quite wet tofu. I saw an intriguing recipe for cheese tofu, which you add a prescribed amount of miso and sugar and marinate the tofu cubes in the liquid. Never tried it but it's my next project. Here's a hint, we're lucky as we have Hoo Hings in Acton/Wembly area. So we pick up a washing up bowl of tofu every now and then for £7.50. There is the government web site on how many animals were consumed in the UK for each year. Can't remember the address though. I think it was on the Farms and fisheries website. For specific information on Murder King, McSlaughter and KFC..... KFC is easier cause they must have an idea as they mostly use body parts. The other two are proud of how many burgers they sell. One more thing with KFC, for those that don't know, they fry their chips with the chicken. So I've been told by my sister who's friends work there. Rowan --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Rowan, Oliver, Have you read " Fast Food Nation " by Eric Schlosser? It gives the American figures. I'm currently reading it... Not ALL the practices this book covers will apply to the UK outlets but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them did... And that includes using beef extracts to flavour the fries...
