Guest guest
I would think they should be able to ask people when they join, to tick a box to say whether or not they are happy for the local contact to have their details, that way it is down to the individual member's choice whether they can be contacted or not. Lesley Angie Wright [angiewright] 12 March 2003 18:34 RE: Why is this group so quiet the last few months? I'm the local contact for Nottingham I haven't beem on any training courses ---not in my area --but I would like to ,in order to meet more vegans. I haven't been asked to speak to the media either . In fact I've done nothing !!!! No one has phoned or Emailed me and since it is Vegan Soc policy not to give out members info (understandably ) I can't contact them !!! Try it Its not onerous If it becomes so you can always opt out again Go for it !!!! I've considered becoming a Vegan Society regional contact for this area (Worcs/Gloucs/Herefs), Are there any Vegan Society local contacts on this list? Guest guest
I agree . Then we might have less people saying on message boards that they don't know any vegans in real life . Many new people might be too shy to phone up an unknown contact I would think they should be able to ask people when they join, to tick a box to say whether or not they are happy for the local contact to have their details, that way it is down to the individual member's choice whether they can be contacted or not. Guest guest
Perhaps when they join, a standard letter could go out with the contacts name / phone no. , encouraging them to make contact I would think they should be able to ask people when they join, to tick a box to say whether or not they are happy for the local contact to have their details, that way it is down to the individual member's choice whether they can be contacted or not.
