Guest guest
Hi Cath, Most greens (inc. collards) have calcium, but also have magnesium and other minerals required for good bone health. Nuts, Tofu (processed with calcium salts), fortified plant milks. I know how you feel as I have felt like that occasionally. My G/F is a Vegan too, so it's not as bad for me. But on the osteoporosis malarkey, calcium excretion is just if not more important than intake. No point turning the taps on more if the plugs not in. Salt, Sulphurous protein intake (I.E. animal protein) all increase calcium excretion. I take my tahini in humus, don't like it neat. I have relatives in Cymru where Vegonia health foods (Portmadog). That's an excellent HFS. Best of luck Rowan >Been getting a bit of stick recently about being vegan, so wanted to >reassure myself that I'm not the only one! > >Yuck! - is there a better way of getting calcium than tahini? > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
