Hi!

I've been lurking here for a while, and I thought this would be a

good time to post my first message, as I will be in the UK next

week! :) I live in Ireland, and I'll be in London on Monday and

Tuesday. I've been there before, but I've only been to a veggie

restaurant there once. I was wondering if anyone would have any tips

on nice vegan-friendly restaurants to visit in London (especially if

it's a place with great desserts! :) Also, I'd like to know if there

are any vegetarian/vegan-related events scheduled there for these

dates.

Thanks a lot for your help!

On the vegan front there's lots of Chinese/Thai/Whatever buffets that have

appeared lately... best I've seen is the one just of Tottenham Court Road

near Windmill Street (from TCR tube station, turn left before the HSBC bank,

and it's on the left). This one has the all-you-can-eat buffet, but also has

pancake rolls and steamed dumplings *include in the buffet price*. Lots of

fake meat / soy-weirdness, so depends on what your tastes are / what your

mood is... However, they must be the best/most interesting thing to hit

London veggieness for a while... Dessert-wise, not a lot AFAIK.

A new veggie restaurant has opened recently on Marylebone High Street,

details in this week's Time Out (will hunt it down if I remember, otherwise

the same Time Out will be Mondays).

Mildred's is better than ever in it's new bigger location, and is licensed.

And it does desserts.

Cafe Pushkar in Brixton is (hopefully still) now open in the evenings, and

was always great for vegan cakes...

Thank you for the reply, Steve. It sounds great, and I'll definitely

try the ones in Tottenham Court Road and Marylebone High Street.

Thanks a million for your help! :)

(By the way, if anybody ever needs help finding vegan-friendly places

in Ireland, I'd be more than happy to try and give you some hints

too!)
