Guest guest
Hi, I was thinking of getting some books to help me along with my transition to veganism. Obviously I'll be getting a coiuple of cookbooks along with the Animal-Free shopper. I was also thinking of getting 'Becoming Vegan' by Bruce Davis and Vesanto Melina. It's got some good reviews on amazon, but I just wondered it any of you had read it and if it was any good. If not, then I'd be grateful for any suggestions on a good book in a similar vein. I'm basically after a good book which will provide an introduction to veganism and lay out honestly both the good and the bad sides of it - and give advice on how to avoid any pitfalls. Looks like this is what that Davis book is about, but if anyone has better recommendations, I'd be grateful for the help! Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Littlemouse, In case you haven't heard of/read these already I totally recommend "Vegan: The New Ethics of Eating" by Erik Marcus (ISBN 0935526358), an exploration of veganism from the point of view of doctors, vegans, nutritionists and sanctuary workers, etc. The researcher of this book, Michael Greger MD (lovely man!), has his own book now as well. "So, What Do you Eat" by Liz Cook (ISBN 0953622207) is a practical guide to nutrition and easy but very yummy meals with lovely illustrations. Best wishes, Wendylittlemousekc <kerrycoutts wrote: Hi,I was thinking of getting some books to help me along with my transition to veganism. Guest guest
Thanks Wendy. I have heard of these books (saw them on a website - forget which one) but haven't read them. They both sound interesting.
