Hi Elizabeth : - )

 

you asked about vegans having their 5 a day, and I wasn't going to respond because you know I have a certain amount of raw (allbeit quite low at the moment!)

 

I have a good amount of fruit in my smoothie in the mornings. Sometimes I have a salad (MUST do this more often!) but always (these days) have some cooked veggies....like carrots, peas, potatoes, mushrooms (do they count ; - ) Also I often have avocado mixed with grated carrot. And at the moment we have a load of apples (we're lucky to live quite near an outlet shop for a local organic fruit and veg factory and can get some amazing bargains, like a box of over 100 royal gala apples for £4, in good condition or a huge box of bananas for £4. Sometimes they're very ripe and you have to use them fast, but it's still worth it). Anyhow, so I've been having lots of apple mush ("mushed" on the "studdy" side of a grater) - I do like to pour soya milk/soya dream and maple syrup over them 'though! : - )
