Guest guest
Hi Laura : - ) I remember you asked us what our favourate foods are. Sorry I took a while to get back to you on this, got a bit distracted with that "AR to be, or not to be" thread ; - ) Favourate foods.....starting with raw....well I like fruit smoothies (if I get the ratio just right with fruit and raw tahini I can make an excellent vegan fromage frais!) I also like salad with a tasty dressing. Apple "mush" (using "studded" side that can be found on some graters) with soya dream/milk and maple syrup poured over. And now on to cooked savoury. My husband makes a good veggie mousaka using Realeat frozen soya mince. Also I find potatoes in breadcrumbs yummy. Veggie shepherds pie can be good. A naughty one - fried potatoe wedges (well they have their skins on at least ; - ) Cheezley and bits (bits can be a mix and match of onion, mushrooms, courgettes, peppers and tomatoes) on toast dipped in ketchup (I told you I can be bad Elizabeth! ; - ) As for cooked deserts, well......I love homemade apple pie with cream or ice cream, especially when the apple pie is still hot mmmmmmmm. I like cakes, I have a good recipe for a chocolate cake (and have established a coffee varient) but have avoided temptation for quite a while. I discovered an amazing vegan chocolate rum torte in a cafe called "The Treehouse" in Aberystwyth. It was so absoloutely delicious (others couldn't believe it was vegan!) that I got the contact number for the woman who makes it and now she is our official birthday cake maker ; - ) One of our vegetarian friends insists on a wodge of it every time we have some :- ) Another cafe in Aberystwyth makes very yummy vegan crepes, my favourate filling they do is apple and maple syrup. Well that gives you an idea of some of my favourates. Now I feel peckish! Jak
