Guest guest
Hi there! There is a way to set all new members to have first posts moderated on the thingy which can eliminate all unwanted ads. Suitable posts are just approved and the person's membership set to " normal " whereas advertisers can be deleted and banned before the group sees anything of it. If you need some help, please let me know and I'll see if I can talk you through the process. Alternatively, as I know there've been some difficulties in the top table team having the time etc to spend with the group, I'd be happy to take care of that side of things for you. I know, it means you'd have to make me a moderator so I could have access to the relevant functions, but I shall stay in my place, no worries!!! LOL!!! Anyway, I think it would be worth it to protect the group from nuisance and offensive postings. hugs, Elisabeth=)
Guest guest
What I do with the I started up is I have people join on pending membership, then I email to ask them for a few words about who they are and why they want to join, I explain it's just to keep out trolls and spammers, the genuine ones should not be afraid to reply and I certainly wouldn't refuse anyone whose reasons seem genuine and above board. Obviously these porn spammers don't reply and would get rejected. I agree with you Elisabeth, we really need a new setting for this group to keep out seedy scum and porno spammers like this. It has it's own place on the internet and lots of it so why they bother the likes of us is beyond me!
