Guest guest
For interest: I believe that the Thanksgiving holiday was started by the Puritans in the States a couple of centuries ago. They didn't like the excesses and pagan origins of Christmas, (which was also banned here in Britain for the same reason), and so they appear to have started a whole 'new' celebration a month earlier with an amazing amount in common with a certain 25 Dec festival! Changing that label but not the contents??? Well, the Americans also re-instated Christmas, although later than the Brits did, and now they also keep up the Puritan holiday too. Excess knows no limits, it would appear....=( Hugs, Elisabeth=)
