Guest guest
1/ What is your name (or what do you like to be called)? Charlotte, although I like Lottie, too.2/ How old are you (a rough idea will do)? 26 on the 30th of this month!3/ Do you know many vegans in real life? I know one, and I'm soon to be another.4/ How long have you been a vegan, and how long vegetarian before that? Been vegetarian since Wednesday! (Truly I am a newby) Aiming to be vegan as soon as I've purged my fridge of all it's evils... (A fine excuse we've all used, no doubt.)5/ Why did you become vegetarian/vegan (if you are neither it would be useful to explain why you joined this list)? Mainly I want to become vegan for the environmental impact being a carnivore has, having read what a marked difference veganism makes. Also, I wasn't convinced of it's salubrious (get me with my big words!) properties before, but having read the posts and having spoken to my friend who is a 5 year vegan, I'm seeing the benefits. In addition, it would seem, again from having talked to my friend, that it' the only way forward until we stop seeing animals as our property, and regain the respect for ourselves & nature.=== Questions about your area ===6/ Whereabouts do you live? In Kingston Upon Hull, a gray little town with a repugnant accent!7/ How good a place is it for vegans? Not being one yet, don't know. Not too bad as far as I know, if you have access to a car for the supermarkets, otherwise it's expensive to rely on the whole food stores each day.=== Questions for fun ===8/ Which is your favourite type of bean? Baked. Sorry.9/ What is your favourite country, or region, to visit? I feel drawn to Scotland, but I've never been as yet. Also Ireland. 10/ What types of film do you like? I get very involved so quite emotional films, not girly, however. I adore Lord of the Rings. So real & all encompassing of life's harmonies; good/evil, nature/technology, etc.11/ What was the last meal you ate? Um, toast. I'm not good at eating.12/ Are you a morning, evening or night person? I think evening. I like them all. === Questions for dull administrative purposes ===13/ How did you find out about this list? Through looking on groups for a UK group.=== Other comments ===14/ If there is anything else you want to add to the above please feel free to do so. Again, not being a fully fledged vegan, & not knowledgeable by any stretch, I would just like to say I am taking this path after having re-found nature & understanding more about energy, pure & simple. I feel a compassion for other people, animals & the planet and importantly, for myself. Therefore I cannot ignore the harm meat & animal product consumption is doing to each of those things presently, I have no extreme views or even many formed opinions, I don't like to until I think I'm as informed as I can be. I just know it feels right for me, but I will maintain balance is an important thing to employ in any undertaking. I don't think meat eating on the whole is wrong or bad for you, but as said at the moment it seems the way forward. Here endeth the sermon...Want to chat instantly with your online friends?
