Guest guest
Hi I'm new on the list. I'm on a journey to a living foods diet, and this is my vegan month. I don't want to drag my kid into it, but I would like to replace some of his favourite foods by vegan foods, if they are equally nutricious and pleasing to him. He also loves milk chocolate and I was wondering if there is a vegan alternative that is as good tasting for a kid? He doesn't like dark chocolate. I wanted chocolate that I could melt to make chocolate eggs. Thanks! Leo
Guest guest
Hi Leo, Take a look at www.realfood.org.uk - it has a whole bunch of info. about vegan food, including chocolate. It also tells you where to buy Da Vinci's creem eggs, which, if rumours are correct, taste like milk chocolate cream eggs. Also, oddly enough Sainsburys has a free-from chocolate bar which tastes like milk chocolate. I'm afraid I can't remember its name, but I'm sure you'd be able to find it. If you can't get them in your local wholefood shop, you can order them online from http://www.veganstore.co.uk Vegan Store also does chocolate spreads and loads of different vegan " tuckshop " sweets - jelly sweets, cola cubes, mini eggs, smarties, malteasers, snickers and crunchies all have a vegan alternative. I've never tried melting the Plamil chocolate for a receipe but they do have a website so maybe you could ask them for some tips. Have fun!
