Guest guest
http://www.peta.org/alert/automation/AlertItem.asp?id=1137 Please respond immediately. Many thanks to those who contacted Indo-Holidays.com, a tourism company purporting to “disclose … the beauty of Indonesia” by displaying a brazen feature on cockfighting. Citing your response, the company has removed this appalling celebration of sadism and cowardice from their site. Congratulations! Sadly, another tourism promotion of cockfighting has been uncovered. The Bali Hilton International hotel offers guests a “theme party,” where attendants can be “entertained by cockfighting” as they sip cocktails on the beach before dinner. It is this romantic image of the blood-soaked practice that truly “defies description,” not the hotel’s “magic” as it claims. Of course, the hotel fails to mention cockfighters’ attachment of razor sharp daggers to the birds’ feet, or the birds’ injuries—the most common are broken wings and legs, punctured lungs, severed spinal cords, and gouged-out eyes—or their fates: the “lucky” ones die, eventually. The survivors are fought again. And again. For more information about cockfighting, Please—in a polite and courteous manner—implore Bali Hilton International to do the right thing for animals and Indonesia by removing this cruel promotion from its Web site and literature and focusing instead on the nation’s humane attractions: Bali Hilton International Hotel info
