Guest guest
Tesco have a half price offer on Fetzer Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon at the moment. You have to order online in multiples of 6 bottles but it works out at around 3.60 a bottle, which is probably the cheapest vegan wine you can buy anywhere at the moment (this is even cheaper than you can buy them in California, where they are produced). Guest guest
According to shop-mate and isitvegan.info, there are various 'cabernet sauvignon' wines which are vegan (inc. a Tesco one). Also, I find the Co-op have a decent selection of cheap vegan wines as well. Guest guest
Thanks James - I'm just looking at Tesco's own list of vegan wines at <http:// www.tesco.com/winestore/controller.aspx? Bc=0 & sid=1 & No=0 & N=60380 & Nr=70002 & Ns=Name%7c0> and they _don't_ include any of their Fetzer wines on that list. AFAIK the Fetzer wines are vegan, and it may just be the case thet Tesco didn't get the required information from Fetzer, but /caveat emptor/, as always. However, on this same list I note that some of their other " 50% off " wines _are_ listed, e.g. Evolution Merlot at 3.46 a bottle. Guest guest
I too check their web site which does list whether the wines are vegan or not, and indeed splashed out on a bottle of the Evolution Merlot this week, so it had bloody well better be vegan or Tesco will hear about it big time! It does not list much info compared to the other bottles. Try this link which sorts by dietry prefernce...... http://www.tesco.com/winestore/controller.aspx?more=y & Nr=70002 & sid=100D700C5872 & N=60192+60380 & Ne=60377 It doesnt mention Fetzers? Hi Peter - Yes, it's one of those annoying things where the fact that the Fetzer wines are not listed does not necessarily mean that they are not vegan. Here are a couple of URL's that seem to indicate that the Fetzer wines /are/ vegan: <http://veganconnection.com/veganwine.htm> <http://www.veganstandards.com/drinks.html> Note also that Fetzer produces the Bonterra range of wines which are most definitely vegan.
