Hi guys! I am new to this board and a newbee in veganism. I've been a

vegan for 2 months now and I love it ! :-) I am posting here to pick

your brains up about protein intake. As my forthcoming IVF is

approaching I am supposed to eat 60 gr of protein a day. Could you

please give me a list of foods with the highest protein content or some

ideas what to eat so I reach this number? I will be very gratefull for

any suggestions.

Kind regards,

Teo

Well, for a start it's unlikely you'll need to worry about your

protein intake. Most people get far too much protein. But some foods

high in it are beans, pulses etc, tofu, some of the 'veggie' foods

like veggie burgers and such (although check to make sure there's no

egg!) and nuts. The Vegan Society's website is very useful - loads of

information on all things vegan, and they have some excellent

nutrition info - what foods have what in it, what you need and why

etc. Their site is http://www.vegansociety.com and their nutrition

pages start at http://www.vegansociety.com/html/food/nutrition/ with a

list of great links on the left. For example, if you click on the one

for 'protein' it tells you what it is, why you need it, where it can

be found, and even how much you need according to age, gender etc.

Hope that helps! If not, this is a good place to ask things like that

(even if it is a bit quiet here sometimes!).

Best foods for protien are tofu, beans and pulses, and nuts. You dont need to eat much to hit that target.
