Guest guest
Hi all Yesterday (Weds.) I received the adjudicators decision and it is not good news; the adjudicator has decided that I did not have "good cause" for my refusal to apply for the office position at Home Design, (where they sell leather furniture). The laws used in coming to the decision being: Social Security Act 1998 sec 8 Jobseekers Act 1995 secs 19(1), 19(3), 19(6)© 19(9) and 19(10)(a) SI 96 207 Jobseekers Allowance Regulations 1996 regs 70 and 72(1) to 72(7) This has resulted in a sanction to run from Dec. 2nd until June 1st next year, (ouch). It goes without saying that I shall be appealing against this decision; a good starting point being 72 (2) © of the Statutory Instrument SI 96 No 207 a section which relates to "good cause". The relevant section being: "the fact that the failure to undertake a particular employment or to carry out the jobseeker's direction resulted from a religious or conscientious objection sincerely held". A section which covers my situation nicely; (or as we are talking law I ought to say should cover my situation) Watch this space for updates Peace Kev :-( Play Santa's Celebrity Xmas Party, an exclusive game from
