We might be able to attend a meetup in Brighton if it were on the

weekend. We had actually looked at living there for awhile, but then

my partner found a good job at Harwell, and it would've been a long

commute for him.

Plus, having lived about 1/2 mile from water in Chicago, I'm missing

the beach! :D

Do you all know of any good restaurant recommendations near Heathrow,

btw. We're going to be out there this Saturday. We're headed into

central London later, but lunch will probably be out by the airport

somewhere.

There's a defunct vegan meetup group in Brighton. I emailed the guy

who " owns " it to see if we could get things moving again but got no

response. The same thing happened with the local Vegan Society

contact. I guess vegans are already too well catered for in Brighton

so local groups don't have any appeal (?).

I'm in California at the moment until mid August, and then after that

I'm off to France with my little boy on a 2 week camping trip, so I'm

not going to be in Brighton for more than a handful of days in

August. Back to normal in Sept when school starts again though.

The Heathrow area is a bit of a wasteland, I'm afraid - you're

probably better off holding off until you get in to London.

I'll have another go at getting the Brighton vegan meetup group going

again - even if there isn't much local interest it's a popular

destination for out-of-towners. Watch this space...

Oh, one more thing - veggiesocials () are organising a

visit to Brighton on Aug 26th. They're vegetarian rather than vegan

though, but if you can live with that then join the veggiesocials

group and come on down to Brighton on the bank holiday weekend. I'd

probably make an appearance myself but will be out of the country.
