This one comes up a lot on the list, maybe every 3 or 4 months.

Here's a canned anwer from our FAQ system

I think your best bet for something that big is a custom sheet cake direct from Black China or maybe an vegan ice cream cake from MaggieMudd.

Hope this helps

Take care

Chris

Hello,

I would like suggestions on where I can purchase a delicious vegan birthday cake to feed 100 people. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you.

Hi Jeff. Oh, I never thought to keep track of exactly when I went raw! So

I can't celebrate my raw birthday. Tomorrow is my actual one.

Happy Birthday, Judy!

Is this your " raw birthday " or actual birthday? (I'm sure it's the

latter. Some people like to celebrate both.)

There are a couple of organic, refrigerated cookie doughs at Whole Foods...

On a brighter note - dd's birthday party is in a few weeks. She wants

Diego and the animals. Nick, Jr. has a really great cake and cupcake

recipe and templates. Does anyone know of a source of vegan " melting

candies? " Has anyone used the Dairy-Free " White Chocolate " Chips

from Vegan Essentials. I thought if they melted well and then

hardened well I could tint them with my natural dyes and use them to

make the monkeys and Diego's hair, etc.

In the interest of time, does anyone know if refrigerated sugar

cookie dough is vegan. I've never used it as we try to stay organic

and low sugar.

I plan to use spelt flour with a vinegar cake recipe. Any reason the

spelt won't work with this recipe? I bought xantham gum as was

suggested on this or the vegbaby site for stiffening the icing for

decorating. Any comments? If you have any baking or decorating tips,

please let me know.

Thanks,

Carrol
