Guest guest
My daughter just had her 5th birthday on Monday, but was off sick the last day before half-term when we were going to take something in to share (she is hardly ever sick). We we will be taking in some vegan sweets on Monday, first day back after half-term. Most of the kids take in non-vegan sweets containing either milk products or gelatine, and I need to make sure the teacher has something to give Lucy when these sweets are distributed in future. This time we have got fruit leathers and La Fruits to give out which are not only vegan but a bit healthier as they are naturally sweet without added sugar (plus a few extra for the teacher to keep for her for when others have birthdays). There have been so many times when we have had to send some vegan alternative ingredients in for cooking at school (we have two older children), even when other parents do not have to send in anything because for them it is all provided. I don't see why the schools cannot provide on an equal basis for vegans but we find most schools are still rather clueless about how to do this.
