Guest guest
Hi I have just finished designing a vegan recipe site with my sister. It is very much a work in progress at the moment and I would really appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions for new recipes. The URL is www.recipesforvegans.co.uk. Thanks for any help you can give me. Michelle
Guest guest
I can’t really offer any suggestions, but what really strikes me as so outstanding about most of your recipes (or your sister’s recipes) is that they seem simple enough not to be at all offputting. You don’t try to be complicated and all pretentious the way some cookery writers do and in my opinion your way works the best for many of us, we are not all expert chefs! I don’t know about other people but I’m often totally put off trying recipes because of a list of about 20 ingredients, but your recipes look so user-friendly, I could imagine myself trying quite a few of them and not taking ages or getting flustered because I had forgotten something. You or your sister sounds a bit like you share my attitude to cooking where you say in a pancake recipe “I never measure my ingredients but judge by the consistency of the mixture” I do exactly this whenever I make a cake, just so long as the mix feels right, miraculously it is usually edible even if not the best cake in the world and my husband and 2 out of 3 of the kids actually eat some (and most of my lot are picky). I was at a parents association meeting the other day where they served up some canapés, and I had not known about this beforehand (of course these ppl would not have considered the possibility of a vegan being there, and I did not say anything, just declined to eat anything). Some of them know do know I am vegan. Now entirely thanks to your site I am considering a couple of simple recipes to try so as to be able to take something a bit similar but vegan if they have these canapés again. I’d rather try taking a little something to share if I go again than come across demanding and expect anything of them, I just feel it would go down better (I don’t want to get a reputation as the moaning vegan). I love your site, and am going to share it with a friend who is an aspiring vegan, so she can see how easy it is to make interesting and tasty vegan food. Who needs cookery books when it is all out there on the web? Thanks for this. Guest guest
Thanks for your great feedback Lesley. I was worried that the recipes might be too simple and it would put people off the site, so I'm really glad that it isn't the case. I hope it helps to persuade your friend that vegan food doesn't have to be complicated!
