Guest guest
This is a good idea. I never know what to say and usually don't say anything, except perhaps Hello everybody! === Questions about you === 1/ What is your name (or what do you like to be called)? Jenny. 2/ How old are you (a rough idea will do)? Approaching middle-age(ish.) 3/ Do you know many vegans in real life? Several. 4/ How long have you been a vegan, and how long vegetarian before that? Last year I became vegan again, I was vegan for a couple of years a while back. 5/ Why did you become vegetarian/vegan (if you are neither it would be useful to explain why you joined this list)? Compassionate reasons. I felt like a hypocrite. === Questions about your area === 6/ Whereabouts do you live? The Vale of Glamorgan. 7/ How good a place is it for vegans? Rubbish! === Questions for fun === 8/ Which is your favourite type of bean? Definitely the red kidney bean. 9/ What is your favourite country, or region, to visit? I like Europe. I have a special affinity with Sierra Leone, since spending time there with relief operations during the civil war, however. I'd also really like to visit India, especially the places the Buddha taught at. 10/ What types of film do you like? Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced, you get the idea. 11/ What was the last meal you ate? Breakfast this morning. Wholemeal toast spread with Pure and hummus. One cup of weak, black, decaff tea and a pint of fresh orange juice. 12/ Are you a morning, evening or night person? All of them! I'm vegan! === Questions for dull administrative purposes === 13/ How did you find out about this list? I searched through the list for " vegan " . === Other comments === 14/ If there is anything else you want to add to the above please feel free to do so. I'm also a Christian, Anabaptist/Quaker, and a feminist. I am anti-just about any discrimnation, having suffered enough myself, and love writing letters of protest and asking awkward questions of our government ministers (they are obliged to reply, so hopefully they will start thinking soon.) I am also a massive admirer of cats, especially the smaller ones, from the Manul to the Oncilla. A " domestic " cat lives with me and he is the most sensible and intellectually stimulating person I have ever met. Bar none. If you want to know anything about cats (NOT about breeding and shows, I detest that) I will do my best to enlighten you And, simplifying my life, I have gone from an MoD logistics manager to council cleaner. Although I am hoping to secure a place at university next year to study law (I'm a major admirer of Gray Francione's work). Always happy to talk to people, so if you want to say hi, please do so. I'm online most mornings (unless I'm off somewhere like next Monday, to Essex to pick up a water tank.) Thank you for completing a profile.
