Definately not. I find it appalling that vegetarians would even contemplate

taking part in the programme and visit the killing floor of the abatoir. What

kind of message does that give of vegetarians? that vegetarianism is just a fad,

that we are all fickle vegies/vegans?

Possibly, but mostly to get my wife who still eats meat to accept that I'm

not being over-sensitive or stupid about how her steak gets on her plate.

From what I gathered about the programme in the papers the other day one of

the butchers is suppose to be showing them how their methods are kinder to

the animal than the large abattoir's. Glad to know that my license fee is

being spent on good wholesome family entertainment!

Slightly of topic, I saw part of a kid's show the other day (story of

Tracey... something or other), where " mum " made lentil burgers and gets a 5

minute grilling about how disgusting it they are, how they're not proper

burgers and how they are missing out by not eating the real thing (followed

by images of other kids gorging themselves on burgers). Is that the kind of

programming that is on now, eat meat or you're some kind of freak?

Here endeth the rant

Hi Peter,

I definitely won't be watching it either - I couldn't!! I wonder where they get

those vegetarians from that are willing to partcipate in that sort of thing?

They can't be real veggies!

When I first saw this programme advertised I thought it would be a good idea for

meat-eaters to watch to make them see the killing process and to make the

connection between the killing of an innocent animal and whats on their dinner

plates and maybe some would go veggie? But I'm not so sure now as to what the

programme makers incentives are?

Maybe if those kids saw how their burgers are made and the animals being killed

they would think differently.

There appears to be a lot of anti-veg stuff on t.v recenetly,- We live in a

very twisted world,

I am to, suspicious of the reasons for this programme. Whilst I shall

not be watching it, I do wonder if the meat industry had a hand in

this. As I said to a friend, is it to make people aware of the

horrors, or to desensitise them even further, a media trick of the

meat industry perhaps?
